The historic Roanoke City Market, also know as the Farmer's Market, is one of the oldest continuously-used markets in Virginia. It opened in 1882 when 25 "Hucksters", or vendors, were granted licenses to sell their goods. Today, the market spans two streets and Market Square, operates seven days a week year-round, and fills with vendors and shoppers on the weekends.
